History
The firm was established in 1992 by Peter Whitehead as one of the first legal practices in the UK to specialise solely in Social Housing law. Prior to founding the firm, Peter, who is currently the firm's Managing Director, was a partner at one of Manchester's top generalist law firms before he decided to dedicate his time to growing a business that specialised in housing law.

The firm of today is very different to when it was established. What started in 1992 as a small family practice, originally based in South Manchester, has now become a force to be reckoned with in housing law with one of the largest dedicated teams in the UK.

In 2001 the firm relocated to Chorley in Lancashire and in that year, its growth really began. The firm began to recruit and has continued to increase its numbers year on year. Currently the firm employs over 20 staff and is in the process of recruiting further.

Given the practice's past and planned expansion, it was decided that the firm should move home and it recently acquired modern, purpose built accommodation.

New offices and an emphasis on better working practices, including Lexcel accreditation from the Law Society, have been combined with investment in technology to provide better services to clients. Given the increased pressure on social landlords to reduce costs and effect savings following the Gershon Review, the firm has increased its use of video-conferencing as a cost-saving mechanism and a 'mobile office' has recently been purchased which reduces the amount of 'lost' time.

These factors, along with the commitment and dedication of the firm's staff mean that now, more than ever before, the firm is looking towards a very bright future with ever better capacity to service the needs of clients.
